Johnson Matthey & Brandenberger AG is the Swiss subsidiary of Johnson Matthey plc and sells a large number of products mainly in Europe. Our offices are located in Zurich and we employ 26 staff, 3 of which are apprentices. Our products are mainly sourced from ISO certified suppliers in Europe and North America.

Johnson Matthey’s reputation for integrity has been a cornerstone of Johnson Matthey’s business since it was founded by Percival Norton Johnson in 1817. It gives customers the confidence that the Company’s products meet the standards claimed for them and that they may safely entrust their own precious metals to Johnson Matthey for processing and safe keeping. Employees at all levels are required to protect Johnson Matthey’s reputation for integrity.

The group’s principles are set out in the Business Integrity and Ethics Policy and issues are further safeguarded through corporate governance processes and monitoring by the Johnson Matthey plc board and its committees. In addition, the group’s Ethical and Sustainable Procurement Policy provides clear guidance on various topics including those relating to the selection of suppliers, auditing against standards and ethical conduct with suppliers. We adhere to the Johnson Matthey Group Policies in general and to Sustainability and Governance Policies in particular.

We are committed to integrating ethical, human rights, social and environmental considerations into our day-to-day operations, business planning activities and decision-making processes. We support the principles set out within the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Labour Organisation Core Conventions, including the conventions in relation to child labour, forced labour, non-discrimination, freedom of association and collective bargaining.

Johnson Matthey & Brandenberger AG is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

The RJC is a standards-setting organisation that has been established to reinforce consumer confidence in the jewellery industry by promoting responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental practices throughout the jewellery supply chain.

The RJC has developed a common platform of standards for the jewellery supply chain and credible mechanisms for verifying responsible business practices through third party auditing.

We commit to operating our business according to the RJC Principles and Code of Practices.

We conform to Swiss law in general and comply with safety, health and environmental legislation. Regular audits are carried out in the following areas: financial, tax, social security, safety, security, IT etc. Internal procedures are in place to cover all aspects of our work ranging from human resources to complex business processes.

We do not source conflict minerals from the DRC or adjoining countries and we do not source anything from South America.
